Our mission is to help improve the diet of children and families
Children are at the epicentre of the obesity crisis, consuming more ultra-processed (UPF) and high in fat, salt or sugar foods (HFSS) than adults. If current trends continue then, amongst children born this year, 1 in 4 will suffer overweight or obesity by the time they start school, rising to 3 in 5 by age 65 (Food Foundation).
We believe that childhood is a window of opportunity for children to develop an appreciation of real food, by empowering families with up-to-date knowledge, skills and AI-powered automations that make it easier to plan, prep and cook healthy food, without breaking the bank.
Purpose
At Phoebe AI we bring together a team of domain experts in human nutrition, technology, psychology, cooking and design with the big vision to find new ways to fight the problem of obesity and experiment until we make tangible improvements.
But before everything, we are all parents of young children who see first hand the hardship of feeding and bringing food on the table. We are shocked by the lack of initiative amongst governments but also the food and grocery industry that seems to do anything to profit on the back of our children’s health and wellbeing. We have little doubt that in the near future certain foods will be labeled as harmful, similar to tobacco. Otherwise the health systems will not be able to cope.
We are very optimistic that the advances of technology can enable us to innovate for a better future and we bet on a change of paradigm in diets.
